Even before its official launch, it has already reached one million views and 100,000 followers on TikTok, and over 42,000 on Instagram. A result that is far from guaranteed for a campaign (featuring model Lucrezia Mangilli) that does not reveal the product.

But when it comes to beauty, interest is always high — especially when a new brand enters the market. Like The Nine Aurora Beauty Zones, “a project born from a personal experience and the desire to launch a new cosmetics company,” explained in Milan by Mattia Miglio, creator and founder of the brand.

Four partners and an Italian investor joining soon

Miglio, currently Director of Business Development North America at Alibaba.com, from 2015 to 2021 was responsible for international marketing at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the leading event for companies and professionals in the cosmetics industry.

With a global mindset (he has been living in San Francisco for several years) and a strong network in the beauty sector, Miglio decided — together with three partners (Kifadesign, Thomas Berloffa, who is also the brand’s art director, and Pink Frogs Cosmetics) — and soon joined by another Italian investor, to create a premium skincare brand for women aged 30 to 50.

The foundation is built on research, technology, and a concept that is redefining the rules of wellness and prevention, representing a new approach to skincare: longevity.

From Tuscany to the Himalayas: the nine skin longevity zones

From a comparative analysis of over 100,000 biophysical and ethnobotanical data points, collected across 50 countries and analyzed according to eight scientific criteria (from skin longevity patterns to low rates of dermatological conditions, from the cultural use of natural skincare to botanical biodiversity), nine skin longevity zones emerged.

These are regions of the world where women’s skin demonstrates a greater ability to maintain elasticity, balance, and radiance over time.

These zones include areas such as Tuscany, the Peloponnese, the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, the Himalayan Valley in Nepal, and Redlands in the United States, as well as regions in Morocco, Norway, Iceland, and Japan (curiously, Korea is missing from the list), where “women’s skin shows better parameters,” Miglio emphasized.

Not only a brand, but also a skincare platform

Based on this study, The Nine Aurora Beauty Zones’ research and development team selected 39 ingredients which, combined together, form the foundation of the brand’s nine products (with another 14 soon to be added), creating a complete and modular system.

Above all, the project is a skincare platform, built by integrating around thirty innovative solutions and applications, such as personalized scans, the Skin AI Diary (a digital journal that allows users to observe — through artificial intelligence — how the skin evolves over time by following The Nine Aurora rituals), or BuyerDock and GS1 for product traceability across the entire supply chain.

Miglio described it as a “Ferrari of skin longevity,” adding that the website is “fully accessible” and offers virtual support in six languages.

The packaging is also innovative (and green), featuring refills, as well as a loyalty program that awards more points to customers who purchase refill formats.

Prices start at €58 and do not exceed €200.

A Soho pop-up store for the U.S. launch

In addition to its Italian Srl company, the brand has also opened a company in the United States. For the launch, expected in February, a pop-up store in Soho (New York) is planned.

“My dream,” concluded Mattia Miglio, “is to take consumers to the nine regions of the world and explain why the ingredients work.”

In the meantime, The Nine Aurora Beauty Zones has caught the attention of a Hollywood star: who knows — perhaps an online sales partnership may soon emerge.
